Testing Board for Professional Competence Assessment of Higher Education Trainees in Medicine and Pharmacy at the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine

USQE – the Unified State Qualification Exam for candidates to obtain Master’s degree in the specialties of the field “22 Halthcare ”.

The stages of the USQE and the components of every stage are determined by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from the 28th of March 2018 №334 “About approving the Order of the Unified State Qualification Exam for candidates to obtain Master’s degree in the specialties of the field “22 Halthcare ”.

In 2020 all third-year students who study such specialties as “Medicine”, “Pharmacy” will pass the first stage of the USQE that consists of the following components:

  • the integrated exam KROK 1;
  • the English language proficiency test

Retaking of a licensing exam “KROK  1”

According to the current normative base, students who got an unsatisfactory mark for the examination “KROK 1” are allowed to retake it.

If, according to results of taking and retaking “KROK 1”, a student failed, he/she will be expelled from the higher education institution being the student who did not fulfill the academic plan.

The Testing Center has the right to conduct retaking of the licensing examination at specific dates using different variants of tests including those tests which are collected from booklets of previous years.

If open booklets of the university are used, students who have more than a passing mark pass the examination at the level of minimum passing score.

Retaking of the licensing exam is performed not earlier than in a week after announcing results of the exam. Dates of retaking the licensing exam are reported to the university with an appropriate letter.

Students retake the exam in the Testing Center, if the quantity of students who failed the licensing exam at higher education institution is 20 people or less.

About KROK-2

“KROK 2”is an exam in professional and oriented disciplines which in content correspond to the educational and professional program of training specialists.

“KROK 2” is a component of state attestation of students that is passed during the senior year.

Criterion “passed”

Effective quantity of the criterion – 60,5% of correct answers.

The quantity of the criterion “passed” is approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine (the Decree of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine from 05.10.2016 № 1043).

All students who gained the result “did not pass” for the exam “KROK-2” are allowed to take state final examination. These students do not obtain the certificate of licensing exams, are considered to be those who did not pass state attestation and don not receive their graduate diploma.

KROK 2. Pharmacy

  1. Pharmaceutical chemistry (15-19%)
  2. Pharmacognosy (12-16%)
  3. Pharmacy medicine technology (12-16%)
  4. Industrial drug technology (10-14%)
  5. Organization and economics of pharmacy (12-16%)
  6. Management and marketing in pharmacy (12-16%)
  7. Clinical pharmacy (13-17%)

Retaking

The repeating of the licensing exam “KROK 2”

Students who got an unsatisfactory mark for the exam “KROK 2” do not obtain their diplomas.

It is possible to retake the exam “KROK 2” once not earlier than in a year for three years. The student who did not pass this standardized state exam “KROK 2” for the second time is not allowed to further retaking without getting retrained.
